YS Organic Bee Farms Extract Propolis has teh amount of extract in it as equivalent to raw state propolis 110,000 mg in a base of Raw Honey. Propolis is a resinous, substance gathered by the bees from the leaf buds or the bark of certain trees, and bushes. The bees then use the propolis as a “cement” that lines the walks of the hive in which they prepare honey, pollen, royal jelly and other related by – products. Nature has provided bees with this substance to keep them and their hives free of germs in spite of 40,000 to 50,000 bees being crammed into close quarters in the hive.
The green to brownish glue-like material with an aromatic smell and slightly bitter taste is made up of 50 to 55 percent resin and balsam, 40 percent was, 10 percent t other, depending on what kind of foliages available.
Researchers found the therapeutic properties of propolis come from substances called flavonoids found in the resin..
Propolis is rich in minerals, B-vitamins and antibiotics and works to raise the body’s natural resistance by stimulating it to produce its own disease fighting defenses.
Bees collect propolis, treat it with their own enzymes and use sticky material to patch holes, or cracks in the hive. This organic “cement” protects the insects and their home from contamination, moisture and germs.
“The bees have relied on it for 46 million years, ” says Dr. Kupsinel, a Florida physician. “The bees must be doing something right because beehives contain less bacteria and are far more sterile than hospital’s” says Dr. Kupsinel.

Great product. Best buy for the money. My husband swears by this. He says it makes him feel better overall. More energy and even picks up that slowed down sex drive.

Vitamin Shoppe shipped me the wrong product, this particular product is unavailable from them or the manufacturer. They are advertising falsely and shipping a different product to unsuspecting customers. I ordered this product on 8/14/09 and now 30 days later they have picked up the wrong product, will not return my money and will not return my phone calls. Their customer service at the corporate office through a woman named Lilly is deplorable. I am supposed to have been called by the manager Darryl since last Wednesady…..no call. DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR.
